Alopecia (from the Greek alopex) is synonymous with baldness and is the abnormal loss of hair. It can affect the scalp or other areas of the skin where there is hair.
Alopecia can be classified into many groups, according to its origin and manifestations, but the most common form is androgenic alopecia, also called androgenetic alopecia or common baldness, which is responsible for 95% of cases and mainly affects men, less frequently women, and owes its name to the fact that it is caused by the action of male hormones or androgens on the hair follicle, causing its progressive miniaturization. Other common forms of alopecia are alopecia areata, in which hair loss is not permanent and occurs in a specific area; alopecia universalis which is the extensive form of alopecia areata; and scarring alopecia, which is caused by the destruction of the hair follicle and is therefore irreversible.
Except in very specific cases of alopecia secondary to other causes, in the vast majority of cases we will find androgenic or areata alopecia, and these are the two types that respond quite well to mesotherapy and platelet-rich plasma treatments, either by applying each of them as a single treatment, or by combining them, so that the result is even more noticeable.
Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a technique that consists of locally infiltrating a combination of substances, whether chemical, homeopathic or natural. Infiltration is performed by means of multiple superficial intradermal or subcutaneous punctures, with which we apply to the area to be treated, in this case the scalp, the sufficient amount of product for the entire surface to be treated, and what is more important, directly, with which we supply the necessary nutrients that will act on the causes of hair weakening.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Biorevitalization with enriched plasma (PRP) is also applied by the mesotherapy technique, but here we will use the plasma obtained from the patient’s own blood, which, from a simple blood extraction, is processed to separate it and a platelet growth factor activator to infiltrate it directly into the scalp.
Any of these treatments, alone or in combination, correctly applied, with the necessary sessions and the appropriate time, normally several weeks usually give good results, either strengthening the hair, increasing volume and stopping hair loss. In some cases, growth is also stimulated.

Hair Transplant (FUE technique)
The hair implant or micrograft is a technique that manages to populate sparse areas with hair. This is done by meticulously extracting hair follicles, normally from the back of the head, to then insert them into the selected areas. It is an operation that requires quite a bit of time (4 to 6 hours), it is not painful and in a few months the transplanted hairs grow and become even. Normally after a treatment of this type, some sessions of capillary mesotherapy with plasma and vitamins are scheduled to strengthen. (see more about FUE hair transplant)
